Description
An officer's flintlock pistol dating: late 18th Century provenance: Francia, Smoothbore, octagonal, 18 mm cal barrel, with gold, triple Leclerc mark, marked with crowned "M" on one side, and "CANON TORDU", foresight, slightly bell-mouthed nozzle. Engraved tang with sight.Lock with flat plate featuring sober floral engravings. Wooden full stock (a small block was reattached), with knurled grip and beaded strips around the lock and on the counterplate side. Iron mounts engraved in Empire style, the butt plate with the initials "PB", iron ramrod with cartridge extractors.
