A "Sea Service" flintlock pistol

dating: first quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Regno Unito, Round, smoothbore, 9" long barrel with reinforcing ring at the nozzle, 17.1 mm. cal at the nozzle. Remains of two non-legible marks. Lock with flat plate featuring a crown above the initials "GR" (George III or George IV), with mark "broad arrow" surmounted by a crown and "TOWER" on the tang. Working mechanism, in better condition than on the outside. With marks "NM" and "3" surmounted by crown inside. Wooden full stock with small repair under the nozzle. Brass mounts. Iron ramrod. Based on the rare "1805 Pattern Short Sea Service."
