A wheel lock pistol
dating: early 17th Century provenance: Italia settentrionale, Smoothbore, long, 13 mm cal. barrel, first octagonal with "G" mark at the base, after a round ring; smooth, angled tang; lock with external wheel and flat lock plate, the cock worked with the ring, pan with sliding pan cover. Walnut, full stock (small missing parts) decorated with filigree floral inlays. Iron mounts, ribbed trigger guard. Carved and pierced iron-tipped wooden ramrod.
