An 1869/71 model Vetterli Carbine

dating: circa 1870 - 1880 provenance: Berna, Round, rifled, 10,5 mm cal. barrel (clean bore, clearly visible rifling), with octagonal base marked with serial number "119xx", "W" under Helvetic cross and with other marks, with adjustable rear sight. Sliding-revolving bolt, frame marked "WAFFENFABRIK BERN" under Helvetic cross and with same serial number. Wooden butt and fore-end, the fore-end checkered and with stamp. Iron mounts and ramrod. Working mechanism.
