Description
An 1850 model percussion carbine for Chasseurs with bayonet
dating: 1856 provenance: Regno delle Due Sicilie, Round, rifled, 17,7 mm cal. barrel, with octagonal base (bore with pitting, no longer visible rifling), with breech marked "FRANCOTTE LIEGE", "ED 1856", "A", mark of the Liège test bench and various other marks, with adjustable and foldaway rear sight up to "1000", provided with clutch for the bayonet (marked "5308"). Backward spring lock signed "A. FRANCOTTE LIEGE"; wooden, full stock with brass and iron mounts. Butt plate marked "13 C.B.C. 8. C 30" and with mark. The left side marked "TO 1856". Iron ramrod. Complete with its bayonet, blade marked "V.W" and "C", iron crossbar marked "13. B.C. 1.C. 128", with brass scabbard and mounts.
