A flintlock gun by Mazzocchi

dating: First half of the 19th Century provenance: Stato Pontificio, Round, smoothbore barrel with octagonal breech featuring small remains of marks, provided with clutch for the bayonet at the base (with brass soldering marks), 17.4 mm cal. at the nozzle. Flintlock with brass pan and plate marked "GM" (for Gaetano Mazzocchi). Working mechanism. Wooden full stock with damaged and restored parts. Iron and brass trigger guards, brass butt plate. Iron and brass bands. Brass muzzle ring (the patina is slightly different than the other brass parts) with front sight. Thin, iron ramrod. Based on the Volteggiatori rifle, but shorter.
