An 1854 model Dornstutzen (Lorenz) with bayonet dating: about 1860 provenance: Austria, Octagonal, rifled, 13.9 mm cal barrel (clean bore, still visible rifling), with round nozzle, provided with adjustable rear sight ('jagerstutzen' type), clutch for the bayonet and front sight. The 'Dorn' inside the barrel is not present. Unmarked, forward spring lock; wooden stock with iron mounts. Complete with its bayonet marked "40 / 11.1", "1276" and "X", length 72.5 [cm], scabbard with leather covering and brass mounts. Rare.
