NW Persia, c. 1910. In the center of the midnight blue central field is a magnificent red round star medallion with 2 offshoots, flanked by continuous foliate scrolls, blossoms and 4 red corner spandrels that correspond with the medallion. 2 light rosette borders enclose the wide yellow main border, decoratively adorned with palmettes and wavy tendrils. Signs of wear. 132x200 cm (ft. 4.4x6.6).
