A fine pierced left-hand dagger
dating: early 17th Century provenance: Spagna, Wide, straight, single-and false-edged blade with carved back, long pierced, engraved and carved tang. Iron hilt, quillon with straight quillons carved with floral motifs and bud-shaped ends. Triangular knuckle guard richly pierced with floral motifs and with edges curved outwards, with counterplate inside decorated en suite. Pommel shaped as a spinning top with carved button. Wooden handle covered with beautiful wire binding and iron wore Moor's heads worked with coils.
