An important Gothic blade with scabbard
dating: circa 1500 provenance: Italia, Solid, single-edged blade with strongly enlarged back and carved in sectors featuring floral motifs and remains of gilding, base and tang decorated en suite, with a bird near the weak on the right side, and a cartouche at the center on the other side. Tang of rectangular section. Leather-covered wooden scabbard with remains of decorations, with two openings inside to house other tools. The blade was most probably part of a kit. Very rare.
