A beautiful tsuba of the Hamano school
dating: Edo Period (1603-1867) provenance: Giappone, Made of iron with shakudo, shibuichi, silver and gold details. Maru gata, kaku mimi, this tsuba of the Hamano tradition is made by contrasting the rough surface with the accurate details of the subjects. The omote side depicting the Dharma cloaked in low relief with the typical onusa of the Shinto priests, the ura side depicting mountain landscape. Period: late 18th century Edo. In Kiri box.
