dating: Edo Period (1603-1867) provenance: Giappone, Hoshi bachi kabuto with 24 iron plates and spikes, smooth mabezashi with red lacquer border, fuchigaeshi en suite and featuring gilt brass mon, shikoro with 3 wide plates laced in blue silk, later maedate. Ressei Menpo of the Nara school with removable nose-piece and long white mustachios (replaced), 5-plate yokarekake. Sode with 7 plates featuring kebili-style lacing. Black lacquered kote. Typical plated Do with reddish lacquer and provided with Kusazuri. Haidate with brown lacquered plate, black lacquered suneate. Mounted on a mannequin.
