A flintlock pistol

dating: First half of the 19th Century provenance: Turchia, Round, smoothbore, iron, 16 mm cal barrel, with slightly bell-mouthed nozzle and floral carvings at the base; the rib gradually lowers towards the nozzle; breech with rings and remains of engravings. Tang with broad sight. Flintlock (18th century European manufacture?) with rounded plate featuring remains of raceme carvings. Hard but working mechanism. Wooden stock of Oriental manufacture with typical integrated fake ramrod. The surface richly decorated with silver-coloured metal inlays depicting geometric motifs, alternating with mother-of-pearl inlays. Iron trigger guard. Brass butt-plate with mask and floral motifs. Brass counter plate with floral decoration. Rear escutcheon made of iron with carving (possibly with Islamic characters).
