A matchlock gun

dating: 19th Century provenance: Yemen, Octagonal, iron, 14 mm cal barrel, marked "LAZARI COMINAZ" between stars on the back, provided with round rear sight at the nozzle without fore-en, the muzzle with moulded nozzle carved as a monster's head with brass eyes. Small pan provided with turning pan cover. Mechanism with working serpentine. Full wooden stock partially covered with white metal sheets decorated with filigree scrolls and with red, carnelian-type cabochon stones. Iron trigger. Butt of typical shape. Ramrod's head with decoration similar to the one on the barrel nozzle. South Arabia or India.
