A silver-mounted Kindjal by Butaev

dating: Late 19th Century provenance: Caucaso, Straight, double-edged blade with triple groove and remains of engraving, the base signed 'BUTAEV'. Beautiful handle completely covered in finely engraved, nieloed and gilded silver foil depicting floral and geometric motifs. Marked "84" and "KI" "8" in Cyrillic. Engraved and nieloed silver scabbard with remains of gilding, marked en suite and with Arabic inscription. Rare.
