Description
An important yatagan dating: 19th Century provenance: Turchia, Long, curved, single-edged blade with back groove and ribbed back, with a gold-inlaid cartouche featuring Arabic inscriptions and geometric decoration at the centre of both sides. Gilded and embossed silver hilt with floral and geometric motifs. Large walrus tusk grips with restorations. Wooden scabbard covered in burgundy velvet (partly worn) with beautiful silver mounts (partly gilded) featuring floral and geometric decorations in bas-relief, the chape with a monster's head, the cap with small missing parts.
