An artillery officer's shako
dating: circa 1870 - 1880 provenance: Francia, Semi-rigid skull covered in black cloth (a small missing part at the back), with leather peak, chevron with gilded-threads, embroidered band. The front part with a crossed cannon frieze made of gilded metal, on a flaming grenade and with tricolour metal cockade. Red cloth pompom charged with number '1'. Leather visor. With red silk cap inside and sweat-band with signs of use. Air holes on the sides.
