An artillery officer's shako

dating: circa 1900 provenance: Austria, Stiff body covered with fine black cloth; peak, sash and visor made of black leather, gilded rank chevron for junior officer, a decoration of a double-headed eagle with the regimental number "13", gilded lions and chains. The visor edged with a gold-embroidery. Brown leather sweat-band and red silk cap inside.

A bicorne hat of a k.u.k. official with suitcase, circa 1900 Stiff body covered with black silk mohair, black grosgrain edging, black feather trim and a golden bouillon gaff (darkened) with a gilded coat of arms button with a crowned double-headed eagle. Beautifully preserved, smooth white silk lining, ochre leather sweatband. Matching hat case (ownership questionable) of linen-covered cardboard with blue cloth upholstery (occasional tears), leather closing strap and carrying handle. Partially slightly damaged, signs of age. Condition: II
