dating: 1862 provenance: USA, Round, rifled, 13 mm cal. barrel with adjustable rear sight and foresight, marked "CAST STEEL 1862". Burnside percussion breechloading, backward spring lock marked "BURNSIDE RIFLE Co./PROVEDENCE=R.I."; serial number "45xx". Wooden butt and fore-end with iron mounts. The counter-plate with saddle ring. Rare.
