Description
A Rogers & Spencer Army Model Revolver dating: 1865 provenance: USA, Octagonal, rifled, 44 cal barrel (clean bore, visible rifling), provided with cusped, brass front sight, marked "B" at base, Smooth six-shot cylinder marked "B". Well working mechanism. Frame with dorsal marking "ROGERS & SPENCER / UTICA N.Y.", "B" and a shield-shaped stamp on the underside. Serial number "35xx" matching on barrel, cylinder, frame and grip. Limited areas of pitting on cylinder and frame. Remains of old bluing. Wooden grips, the left one with clearly visible government inspection mark (RPB).
