A rare and interesting C.S. Alsop Navy model Revolver
dating: 1862 - 1863 provenance: USA, Octagonal, rifled, 4", 36 cal barrel (visible rifling, some deposits inside), with brass front sight, featuring a standard two-line back mark with patents up to 1861. Grooved, five-shot cylinder e with patents up to 1861. Small remains of antique browning. Working mechanism, the cylinder block with the hammer pulled needs revision. Frame with remains of 1859 patent, spur trigger. Some pitting. Serial number "3xx" on the grip, and with mark "G". Walnut grips. Some parts with remains of finishing.
