A Remington-Beals Army Model Revolver
dating: 1861 - 1862 provenance: USA, Rifled, octagonal, 8'', 44 cal barrel (bore in good condition, visible rifling), provided with conical front sight, and the standard two-line mark with the Beals patent at the back, with marks "C" and "P". Six-shot cylinder with no marks and a slightly different patina. Well working mechanism. Brass trigger guard with marks "S". Frame marked "C" and "P". Some signs of use and time. The hammer crest was probably restored. Serial number "10xx" on barrel and grip. Wooden grips, the right one with remains of a non legible stamp (military inspection?).
