A Remington-Beals 1st Model Pocket Revolver, fifth issue
dating: 1857 - 1858 provenance: USA, Octagonal, rifled, 31 cal barrel provided with front sight, featuring a dorsal marking with Beals patents up to '57. Smooth, five-shot cylinder, long pin with spherical end (?). Partially working mechanism (hammer and trigger in working order, the frame-mounted pawl is broken and has a missing part). Serial number "5xx" inside the grip. With the company mark "MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION N.Y." on the back of the frame. Light pitting. Smooth gutta-percha handle (a small missing part and cracks).
