USA. EQUIPMENT. USAAF B-4 Life Vest nominative of Ross D. POGUE B-17 gunner. In waterproofed yellow canvas complete with strap, inflation hoses, automatic inflation cartridges, stamps of various inspections in December 1943 and July 1944, on back stenciled name of Ross D. POGUE (1923-2004 )with serial number. Attached is a file on this serviceman, assigned to the 8th AF, 1st BD, 94th CBW, 457th BG, 749th BS, B-17 belly turret gunner. His bomber group flew numerous missions over Germany and Normandy in June 1944, taking part in "D-Day".
