Netsuke of a craftsman. Boxwood. Edo. 3rd quarter 19th century. Signed: Hoshunsai Masayuki and kao Sitting, sawing a bamboo cane, which he holds in place with his two feet, his cheeks puffed out from exertion and his robe slipped off his upper body. The large opening for the cord guide is uchiwa-shaped, the small one is set in green-colored bone. H 3.3 cm Provenance Collection Mark T.
