Chawan. Ko-Hagi. Nagato province. Edo period, 18th century. Tall, slightly bulbous, conical shape on a very high, straight foot, spirally twisted inside. Beige-colored glaze, merging slightly into pink, with fine craquelure running from the lip rim inwards and outwards and forming white drops. Wooden box, the lid and the paper label affixed to the outside inscribed: Ko-Hagi chawan. Indigo blue cotton cloth. H 8.7 cm; D 12.7 cm Provenance Private collection, Düsseldorf
