Description

Chawan. Oribe species. Mino area, Owari province. Edo period Of the kutsugata type. Irregular shape with horizontal grooves, on a flat, wide foot ring. Entirely covered with a thin, whitish glaze, the base with a crusty texture and a turquoise-green glaze stripe around the mouth. A continuous vine with small foliage in iron brown on the outside of the wall. Wooden box. Brocade bag (shifuku). H 8 cm; D 13.3 cm Provenance Private collection, Düsseldorf
