Large Shoushan soapstone seal with goat knob. Qing period, 18th/19th century. The square seal is crowned with a reclining goat. The back fur and horns are engraved with fine lines, the nose accentuated with a blood-red inclusion. The seal surface is uncut. H 7 cm; base 4.2 x 4.1 cm Provenance Private collection, Westphalia, in family ownership for several generations
