White Tara. Fire-gilt bronze. Sino-Tibetan. 18th century. Seated on a double lotus throne in dhyanasana, her left in instructive vitarkamudra, her right in wish-fulfilling varadamudra. On her head a high crown and on her body numerous jewels, each with turquoise. The ends of her shawl float snake-like at her sides. Base plate not present. H 21.2 cm Provenance Collection Leopold Strasser (1919-2010), Munich, acquired on 30.03.1971 from Schoettle-Ostasiatica, Stuttgart, since then in family possession. Invoice available.
