Standing Buddha Shakyamuni. Bronze, gilt. Thailand/Laos. 17th/18th century. Standing, the right hand raised in abhayamudra, the left hand hanging down, with a taut upper body, horizontal shoulders, thin neck and particularly long ears, the oval head with heavy, domed eyelids and curved mother-of-pearl eyes with black pupils, the bulging lips formed into a broad smile. Small pointed curls cover the head and ushnisha with molded ketumala. Wooden base. H 119.2 cm Provenance Private collection, Netherlands
