Benedetta GAMBETTA, sister of Léon GAMBETTA. (1840-1931) was the sister of Léon Gambetta, French minister and also famous for leaving Paris in a balloon during the Prussian siege of October 7, 1870. She was the wife of Alexandre Léris. Letter A.S. written at Château de l'ERMITAGE in CAHORS (Lot) on November 22, 1904. She requests an audience with the President of the Republic on behalf of M. Mulac, deputy for Charente. Monogrammed on the header. Signed "B. Léris Gambetta".
