LOT-ET-GARONNE. Address from Charles Pierre CLARET DE FLEURIEU (Lyon 1738 - 1810) Acting Minister of the Navy and Colonies, to the Prefect of the Department of LOT-ET-GARONNE. PARIS 16 Nivôse An 12 (January 7, 1804). And. Answer from the Prefect, AGEN 11 Pluviôse An 12 (February 1 1804): "I see, citizen Prefect, by the accounts which are returned to me of the progress of the raising of the Sailors intended for the naval Army of BREST... It will be appropriate that the Navigation of the rivers take again all its activity. I invite you to warn water transport contractors, boat masters or owners, and in general all river mariners, that they can return to their former occupations; and to give them the assurance that no men will be taken on their boats... All sailors aged 50 and over (must) resume navigation. They are the ones who must replace the registered Sailors, called to complete the crews of the Naval Army."
