He was Secretary of State to the Household of King Louis XIV - Receipt signed "De Guénégaud" on his letterhead with his name and titles. "Baron de St Just, Seigneur de Guénégaud, et du Plessis-Belleville, Conseiller du Roy et Trésorier de son épargne. He confesses to having received in this City of Paris from Mr Jean Bonnet Conseiller de Sa Majesté et receveur Général des Finances à AMIENS (80) the sum of 1525 Livres in white money to the Marc and douzaine of the deniers of his Charge of last year 1641. Done in Paris on December 26, 1642. Parchment (22 x 30 cm).

In August 1790, riots broke out in Toulon. Monier de Castellet, who had retired to his estate, went to Toulon on family business on August 11, 1790. Recognized by the crowd at the entrance to the town, he was threatened and booed, but escaped the mob, who wanted to hang him, thanks to the intervention of the mayor and soldiers from the Dauphiné and Barrois regiments, as well as naval troops, who rescued him 3 times from the hands of the people. Important testimony by this lawyer, born in Lyon in 1800, President of the Chamber of Deputies from 1839 to 1848. In the performance of his duties, he demonstrated complete devotion to the government. 2.
