Description

Hergé :

Tintin, Indian ink and watercolor illustration of Tintin and Snowy walking in Scotland. This drawing was inspired by panel 6 of plate no. 41 in the color version of the episode "The Black Island", and shows Tintin in Scottish garb, accompanied by his faithful Snowy. A beautiful, brightly colored composition produced during the publication of the episode "On a marché sur la lune" in Tintin. This illustration comes from a poetry notebook and was created for Edith, the daughter of cartoonist Jacques Laudy, a friend of Hergé and Edgar P. Jacobs, with whom he helped launch Tintin. Note the succession of crossed-out years, suggesting that this illustration was promised some time ago. Dedicated, signed and dated January 53 (the sheet is laminated to another sheet, with the name on the reverse). Dimensions of drawing (with signature) : 12 x 15. Paper dimensions : 14 x 16.8.
