Pair of cherrywood armchairs with straight backs and scrolled armrests terminating in fluting, resting on four sword legs topped by arm brackets featuring a carved palmette motif. Stamped "P.E. LANGLOIS". Height: 94 cm. Length: 50 cm. Width 57 cm. Small accident to the right front foot on one. Slight insolation on both.

"Louis XV furniture of very good taste, very sober and very neat, came out of the workshop on rue Sainte-Marguerite, where this cabinetmaker worked until 1777". Silver flatware. Paris 1769-1770. Master goldsmith: Nicolas-Martin Langlois, received in 1766. Filet pattern, engraved with an escutcheon surmounted by a count's crown. Discharge mark: a helmeted head in profile. Two silver forks. Paris 1754-1755 and 1780-1782 Goldsmiths: Bonaventure Dardet, received in 1739 and Claude-François Vonarms, received in 1781. Filet pattern, the first engraved with a monogram and the number 5. Total weight: 362 g.
