Yellow gold (385) political ring with oval top encircled by a frieze of pearls and adorned with a pivoting miniature under glass depicting the portrait of Frederick II of Prussia (1712-1786), wearing the plaque of the Royal Order of the Black Eagle. The ring is underlined by an applied twisted wire. No hallmark. 18th century. Gross weight: 7.4 g. - Finger size: 60 - Miniature: approx. 20 x 17 mm. On the reverse of the miniature, an element (another miniature, hair...?) is missing, revealing a copper plate. A few scratches and minor knocks. This portrait is to be compared with an engraving of a portrait of the Re di Prussia, oval view, with the same jacket and the plaque of the Order of the Black Eagle, but shown in profile [Getty images].
