AN AGATE ‘HORSE’ SNUFF BOTTLE, QING DYNASTY AN AGATE ‘HORSE’ SNUFF BOTTLE, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. Well hollowed, of rounded rectangular form, rising from a short, oval foot to a cylindrical neck with concave lip. The translucent stone of a creamy pale gray color with shadings of amber and opaque white inclusions, the latter cleverly utilized to depict a striding horse and a seal mark. Provenance: French trade. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and little nibbling to the mouth and foot. Weight: 49 g Dimensions: Height 58 mm. Diameter neck 22.5 mm and mouth 7.5 mm
