Poster measuring 106 x 80 cm. At the top right the Portrait of Marshal Petain, at the bottom the typographical data. Good condition. Important large poster, published by the 'Secrétariat Général de l'Information', printed using the colors of the French flag: the speech in which the Marshal announced the suspension of political parties and the suppression of the parliamentary allowance is presented. The portrait of Petain is the work of Roland Coulon, 1897-1954, painter, draftsman, engraver, illustrator and poster designer of French cinema. A collaborationist, he was head of the artistic services of the General Secretariat of Information of the Vichy regime.

At the bottom is Marshal Philippe Pétain's phrase: 'Je tiens les promesses même celles des autres' (I keep my promises, even those of others).Henri-Philippe-Omer Pétain was a French general and politician. A renowned general during the First World War, Marshal of France, he headed the collaborationist Vichy government from 1940 to 1944, following the second armistice of Compiègne.
