Carsten Henrichsen, attr, "Skovløberhus i Esrum" idyllic Danish summer landscape with forester's house and church, in the warm light of the late sun, slightly impasto landscape painting in warm-toned colours, oil on canvas, on the reverse probably signed, dated and indistinctly titled "Carsten Henrichsen 1868 - Skovløberhus i Esrum", the motif appears repeatedly in the artist's work with the foreground forester's house, with slight variations in the background, thus an almost identical painting by the artist's hand with "Mølledam [Engl.The village of Kongens Lyngby, which belongs to the municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk, with its characteristic Gothic church with stepped gables, borders Copenhagen to the north and was part of the artist's painting territory, old closed losses in the canvas, somewhat restored, framed in Florentine moulding, folded dimensions approx. 34 x 45 cm. Artist information: actually Carsten Frederik Henrichsen, Danish landscape painter (1824 Copenhagen to 1897 Copenhagen), with the support of Baron Løvenskjold, Count Adam Wilhelm Moltke and the English ambassador Wynn 1840-43 studied at the Copenhagen Academy, 1845-49 drawing pupil of Frederik Ferdinand Helsted, in the 1860s, out of necessity, worked as a painting and drawing teacher, finally freelance as a landscape painter, from 1847 regularly attended the art exhibitions at Charlottenborg Palace, honoured with the Neuhausen Prize in 1855, active in Copenhagen, source: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Weilbach and Internet.
