[Asian Arts] Utagawa Kunimasa IV. Portrait of Shinohara Kunimoto on horseback Col. woodcut, 34 x 24 cm, from the series Kagoshima eimei kurabe (Kagoshima Competition for Glory), portraying important rebel figures of the Satsuma Rebellion, 1877, framed. Central and marginal stains, a bit yellowed. Shinohara Kunimoto was one of Saigo Takamori's commanders; he died in the battle of Tabaruzaka on 3 March 1877. -and 1 other by Toyohara Chikanobu, depicting a scene from "Hina Matsuri" (doll festival), 1898, framed.
