[1980s and up] Felix Gonzalez Torres, Sprengel Museum Hannover 1997 Five posters, 58 x 73 cm. Four copies printed with different images and one blank (light blue) as issued. All in very good condition. Felix Gonzalez-Torres (1957 -1996) was a Cuban-born American conceptual artist working in a variety of media. His work addresses issues of identity, desire, originality, loss, and the private versus the public domain. In 1989 Gonzalez-Torres began making his famous stack pieces: blocklike piles of paper printed with content related to his private life, from which the viewer is invited to take a sheet, hence interact with the work. These sheets were hand picked from his exhibition at the Sprengel Museum Hannover held in 1997.

As for portraits, also abundant in his artistic production, the University of Barcelona keeps the portrait of Pablo González Huebra in the rectoral gallery, as well as in the dining room of Antoni Gaudí's Casa Vicens. Pavel Feinstein, Expressive Still Life on a red cloth over a dark surface a white bowl and a blue glass bottle, to the left a book, rare early work by the artist with the incidence of light later corrected by the artist, oil on canvas, signed "Pavel" and dated "1983" by the artist on the lower right, inscribed "Pavel Feinstein" again by hand on the reverse of the canvas, framed in matching discreet black wooden moulding, folded dimensions approx. 40 x 50 cm. Artist information: German-Russian painter. Painter (1960 Moscow), grew up in Tajikistan, 1978 to 1979 attended the art school in Dushanbe, 1980 the family emigrated to Germany, 1980 to 1985 studied painting at the Berlin University of the Arts, master student of Gerhart Bergmann, since then freelance artist in Berlin, Stylistically influenced by Russian realism and Cézanne, his focus is on melancholic still lifes, portraits and figure paintings based on biblical stories from the Tanakh, 2002/3 extensive exhibition at the Jewish Museum Berlin with around 70 paintings, source: Jewish Museum website and website of the Friedmann-Hahn and Klaus Kiefer galleries.

Beatles: Ringo Starr Signed Photograph Late 1970s/early 1980s semi-glossy 3.5 x 5.5 photo of Ringo Starr holding up a Polaroid photograph of himself, signed in blue ballpoint, “Love, Ringo Starr.” In very fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a copy of a provenance letter, which states that this photograph was signed by Starr for a charity event in the late 1980s.
