REVOLUTION. Revolutionary poster, Club des Cordeliers aux Citoyens, [June 21, 1791]; Imprimerie du Cercle Social, rue du Théâtre François; 44 x 35 cm (one edge slightly trimmed without loss of text). Proclamation by Collin, President, and Champion, Secretary. Strong protest against the order to disarm, when "the fatherland and public affairs are in the most threatening danger". Disarmament must be prevented: "when despotism wanted to reign, under the name of Louis-Quatorze, Paris and the other cities of France were disarmed". The piece bears the autograph signatures of Gaudreau, Mutel and Momoro.
