Nomination of Nicolas de HARLAY, sieur de SANCY, as Premier Maître de l'Hôtel du Roi, "for the proofs and sufficient testimonies he has given us of his affection and fidelity to our service on several great and important occasions where he never spared his person, his goods or his means"... [Indeed, in 1589, Nicolas Harlay de Sancy (1546-1629) was able to raise the troops in Switzerland that the King of France lacked by pledging his gems and his famous diamond].

Letter written during the siege of Paris, with Henri IV installed at the Camp de Saint Denis, in which he warns him of the ambassadors being sent and asks "[] je vous prie vouloir ayder de votre pouvoir leur poursuite en et quil ont charge requeret en mon nom pour garantir ceste couronne et moy de l'effet de violence dont je suis assailly []".
