Poem of 42 lines inspired by the character of the Wandering Jew, and collected in Penserosa, poésies nouvelles (Delloye, 1840), pièce XXX, where it is dated 1836. "I blasphemed Christ on the holy mountain, Seeing him bend under the weight of his cross [...] No, walk on, continue your wandering course Until the end of the world, Blasphemer of Christ! Cursed and lonely On this barren land, Wandering Jew, outcast!"
