Throated curved blade marked on the back by the Châtellerault factory and dated 1876. Iron scabbard with one strap and asymmetrical stinger, oxidation, numbered 442. France, Third Republic (1870-1940). Saber troupe de Cavalerie Légère modèle 1822 transformé 1883, from the Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault, with the same number. Cast brass mounting with two secondary arms. Cap with bead surmounted by a riveted dome-button and short tail, curved beak plate. Wooden spindle covered with brass filigree basane. The main guard limb is stamped and stamped "A 25373". White blade, stained in places, with hollow front and flat back, marked "Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault Octobre 1883, Cavalerie Légère Modèle 1822 Tmé 1883" and stamped on the heel. Natural leather tie. Iron scabbard with one suspension ring, nickel-plated finish with superficial traces of oxidation, with the same serial number "25373" and hallmarks. 102.5 cm (Blade 87.5 cm). (Fairly good condition, not common). Note: following a ministerial decision by the Minister of War on August 29, 1883, approximately 30,000 sabers were converted. The original curved blades, straightened and shortened, did not give satisfaction. They proved very brittle on impact, and tended to revert to their original curvature.

Light Cavalry troop saber, An XI model, issued by the Manufacture Impériale de Klingenthal in October 1814, as attested by the signature on the flat back of the blade. Multi-branch cast bronze mounting, long-tailed cap, auricle, corded wooden spindle dressed in black chagrin with its red tie, with its two-bracelet sheet-iron scabbard, bowl to be refastened. Slight oxidation on the scabbard, blade in very good condition. Condition 1-

Wooden fusee dressed in chagrin and watermarked, in its sheet-iron scabbard with two bracelets. Condition 1
