Description

Pittore straniero attivo a Napoli XIX secolo

Veduta del Vesuvio da Resina ( Ercolano) oil on canvas riported on cardboard cm 34,5x66 Signature tracks at the bottom right The extraordinary characterization of the painting sees the painter take relief of lights, nature and architecture in his personal view from Villa Faraone to Resina, giving us an intimately realistic landscape story of the first stretch of the Via Regia delle Calabrie known as the Golden Mile for the splendor of the noble residences and the "Casini di delizia" that follow each other. The village of Resina is described here by the Church of Consolation until Villa Campolieto in Ercolano with the forest of Villa Favorita. In the background a look at the Hill of Sant'Alfonso in Torre del Greco, the gulf of Castellammare and the Sorrento Coast.
