Description

Alabastron in opaque blue-black glass. It is decorated with white and turquoise blue horizontal fillets on the top of the body, continuing in a "sawtooth" pattern from the handles. The lip is outlined on the outside with a turquoise blue fillet. It is adorned with two applied handles forming duck heads. Glass paste. Superb glazing. Phoenician or Greek art, 5th century B.C. H. 12.5 cm Note: these vases, fashioned on clay cores, were mostly found in the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions. Provenance : Jean Roudillon Collection
