First edition of one of Joachim Du Bellay's earliest printed works. The same year, 1549, saw the publication of Défense et illustration de la langue francoyse, the Prosphonematique and l'Olive. The last printed leaf of this edition (misplaced here after the title) contains the privilege on the recto and the misprints on the verso. We have compared our copy with others and found differences in composition and lettering. The errata leaf in our copy was obviously redone later, probably in the 19th century. Spotting and dampening to all leaves.
