NEVERS Earthenware salad bowl with contoured rim decorated with a polychrome patriotic motif. In the center of a medallion, a flaming heart crossed with a sword, cross, spade and rake, topped by a sheaf of wheat inscribed "l'abondance" on a phylactery. Below, two palms held in place by a knot of orange ribbon. Late 18th century, revolutionary period. D. 28.5 cm Damage and restoration to the clasps, chips.
