NEVERS Earthenware salad bowl with contoured rim decorated with a polychrome patriotic and patronymic motif of the three orders meeting, a garland surmounted by two birds pecking at the top of a couple holding hands, in 18th century garb, with the inscription between them 'nous sommes d'une amitié sans égale et voila le fruit de l'amour conjugal' and below, the surnames ''therese lyotard michel lyotard , Epoux Legitimes'' then under a garland the dating ''fais à nevers le 24 7bre 1790''. Flowers on the wing. Late 18th century, revolutionary period. D. 31 cm Cracking.
